Time Flies

It feels like only yesterday
That you and I were strangers.
It seems as if the world has changed
In the space of a few hours.
It feels like all the time slipped by
In the time it takes to blink.
It seems as if the universe turned
Before we could look and see.
It feels like years turned to days,
And the clock is on caffeine.
It seems as if the pendulum
Has sped up its even swing.
It feels like all our memories
Are snapshots of yesterday.
It seems as if twenty-fourteen
Was just the month of May.
