What I Can't Have

Why do I want
That which I cannot have?
That which I desire
Is not mine for the taking.
I have no chance,
Don't you understand?
And all I want
Is that which I can't have.
It gets more impossible
And I want more and more.
I don't know what to do
Or how to hide these feelings.
It's almost easier
If we hadn't ever met,
But then who
Would we both be now?
