The Man in the Moon

The Man in the Moon is angry tonight.
He watches all we do, all we say,
Bathing us in harsh, soft white.
He knows how cruel we are,
He knows how unkind.
He knows what we did tonight,
And he frowns, glaring with light.
The Man in the Moon thinks we're broken,
And I think he's probably right.
The atrocities we commit are stupid,
And we perform only to prove our might.
The Man in the Moon watches us,
Seeing our wars, how we fight.
With weapons and with words,
We send out serpents to bite.
The Man in the Moon is angry tonight.
He watches all we do, all we say,
Bathing us in harsh, soft white.
